Spot Welding Machine for Li-ion Battery Cells
Martinček, Martin
This article describes creation of spot welding machine prototype. Spot welding enables joining bigger number of Li-ion cells in order to create higher energy storage. Main objective of this article is to design diagrams and algorithms for the spot welding machine. Requirements to regulate current and minimize heat stress on battery cells are implemented in the solution.
Optimalization of surface treatment of copper for spot welding
Šilhavý, Miroslav ; Šoukal, František (referee) ; Zmrzlý, Martin (advisor)
structure of metallic materials, properties of copper and tin, spot welding, phase equilibria at weld joints.
A proposal of innovation technology for joining of components for specific purposes
Berka, Miroslav ; Jaroš, Aleš (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
The main goal of the diploma thesis is a proposal of alternative metal sheets joining technology which would replace the current technology of spot welding. Different variants have been proposed, and the one which suits the most, the technology of clinching, was compared to the existing one. The costs have been calculated and following results have been concluded: the return of investment of clinching press is about 2 years. In the case of handheld tongs it is 1 and a quarter of a year. Annual savings of clinching press are 234 485 Kč, and in the case of handheld tongs are 258 019 Kč.
Welder for lithium batteries
Martinček, Martin ; Jaššo, Kamil (referee) ; Vyroubal, Petr (advisor)
This Bachelor’s Thesis deals with the composition of lithium batteries, lithium cell joining, and the design of a device customised for contacting an 18650-size cylindrical cell. The first part discusses the construction, basic materials of the lithium batteries and their applications. In the next section, an overview of several methods of cell contacting and their comparison with each other is presented. The last section discusses different parts of the design and construction of the device, working on the principle of spot resistance welding.
Spot welding workplace automation
Chlup, Adam ; Tůma, Jiří (referee) ; Knoflíček, Radek (advisor)
Bachelor thesis made in collaboration with Norma Czech s.r.o. company deals with designing and implementing automated spot welding workplace. The first part of the bachelor thesis is describing current information and knowledge about clamping of weldments and its manipulation. Using the knowledge of welding jigs, a design of not only welding jig, but also of the entire welding workplace with automation elements is then made. This design is then implemented in practice with main goals to save as much as possible space in the production hall, increasing productivity and effectivity of workplace. Thanks to the application of the UR 5 robotic arm in work cell is productivity measured by number of pieces per people hour (PPH) increased by 96 %.
Strength point connections in the soft and hard mode welding
Steiner, Jaromír ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
Spot welding of 1.4307 material of 1+1 mm thickness is tuned out excellently by the enterprise ROSTEX – at the changes only of the welding current it was managed to approach the value of thickness achieved by enterprise ROSTEX. At the welding of 1.4307 material of 2+2 mm thickness it was managed to achieve more strength under welding parameters: Fs = 5500N, Is = 8,964 kA, ts = 10 Per. Spot welding of 1.0330 material revealed a possibility in proceeding with welding current increasing which could stand for the weld strength increasing (not necessarily) – a limit where material could splash was not achieved. The soft mode welding is not convenient for up-to date spot welding because the material is extremely affected by heat at the long welding time, it also leads to huge thermal losses, thermal effect and distortion of electrodes (electrodes life diminishing). Soft mode welding is not expedient even economically. In accordance with economic comparison, see chart 27, page 64 – for instance welding of 1.4307 material with 1+1 mm thickness at 1000 welds there is difference of 644 Czech crowns between the hard and the soft mode welding in benefit to the hard mode.
Design of the production concept of the part "Rear wheelhouse outside left of the AU40x" at the AUDI Neckarsulm plant
Navrátil, Tomáš ; Málek, Ondřej (referee) ; Simeonov, Simeon (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor’s thesis is the design and description of the operation of an automated line producing the outer wheelhouse for the left side of the rear part of an Audi AU40x car. Furthermore, a virtual commissioning of 3D model of a cell with a welding station, which is the first part of the line. Siemens Process Simulate is used for this.
Development of an electric shock welding method for a combination of thin-film and thick-film structures
Hruška, Andrej ; Jankovský, Jaroslav (referee) ; Otáhal, Alexandr (advisor)
At the start this bacherol thesis deals with connection methods of terminals on thick and thin-films. One of the methods, which this thesis is mostly orientated on, is a terminal connecting with the shock welding method. The point was to test, if this method of connecting terminals is suitable for a combination of the thick and thin-films applications. The experiment included making of template for vapour plating, vapour plating of thinfilm on substrate, its galvanic plating and testing. Mechanical tensile strength of created welds was tested and in the end there was done the optical inspection of internal interface of welds.
Development and characterization of new method of interconnection between leads and thick film layer
Hurtík, Pavel ; Skácel, Josef (referee) ; Otáhal, Alexandr (advisor)
This work deals with different ways of interconnection between leads and thick film. It also includes the development and characterization of a new method of connecting leads, namely spot welding on thick film technology. The tips of the welding pen were modified to reduce the size of the resulting welds. To achieve a better-quality connection is used galvanic platting of contact pads. Final welds were then tested by mechanical strength testing (shear test, peel-test) and the optical method of evaluating the quality of the weld using metallographic cutting was used. Using this technology, a new inseparable connection can be achieved.
Optimization of the method of parallel gap spot welding of terminals on a thick film layer
Hurtík, Pavel ; Skácel, Josef (referee) ; Otáhal, Alexandr (advisor)
This work deals with optimalization of interconnection between leads and thick film using spot welding. Technology of thick film ensures higher temperature range of thick film temperature sensors and other devices which could put them in the category of high temperature applications. Within this work will be designed and optimized suitable test motives and materials of thick film welding pads.
